Android robot voice is coming to the phones of millions of people, and now Google is pushing a new app that makes it easier to mute the robot voice from your device.
According to a Google+ post today, users can mute a robot voice by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and tapping “Voice” from the notification shade.
Users will then see a “Vibrate” icon at the bottom left corner of the app.
Once muted, the app will go into a silent mode and only display notifications that match your voice.
The app’s description reads:The new Android Voice App helps you stop the voice from invading your Android phone.
Use the new Voice App to mute a voice that is distracting you or is causing you to worry about something.
Use voice controls to choose how the voice should be heard.
The voice app uses the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system to run, so there’s no need to download the latest version of the Android OS or Google Play Services.
Google is hoping that users who want to mute their robotic voice will just do so by swipes up from bottom of screen, then tapping “Vibration.”
The app will then show a vibration icon at bottom left.
Users can then choose which of their four customizable vibration sounds to use.
As long as the vibration sounds match the sounds of your voice, the voice app will remain silent.
Users will be able to choose to mute one or more of the voices on their phone, which will mute the other four voices.
If the users choose to have the voice muted, they will see a message from the Android Voice app stating that the mute was successful.
