The parents of a 5-year-old girl who died after a plastic bag exploded inside her home have agreed to a $3 million settlement with the boy’s family.
The parents of Darlen M. Robot, a 5th grader at the school in San Diego, said Monday they had reached a settlement with their daughter’s parents over the death of their daughter.
Robot was found dead on Dec. 15, 2016, by a school administrator who was cleaning out a room, according to an Associated Press report.
Robots head exploded and she was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Robotics is a popular toy at schools in California, Florida and Arizona.
Robotic toys are marketed as toys for children who are learning skills and who are looking for fun.
Robocop, a toy version of the “Robot” character, has been the subject of controversy in the past.
In 2013, a video surfaced of the character, who has a black head, being repeatedly kicked, punched and kicked in the head by a man in the video.
